The design of Olive Guest House stems from a desire to connect the project to the Earth and its surroundings. A space exclusively designed for the tasting and enjoyment of a product that originates from the earth, such as olive oil, requires architecture that is deeply rooted in the Earth. This is why our ambition was to engage all five senses in the experience. We wanted to create a setting where smell, touch, sight, hearing, and, above all, taste are heightened to enjoy this unique product in the most natural and timeless way possible, while also achieving an innovative, modern, and environmentally friendly space.
Olive oil evokes the Earth, lush greenery, a unique aroma, and the tranquility conveyed by the tree that produces it. The olive tree is a symbol of longevity and immortality. It represents resilience and renewal, with the ability to withstand adverse conditions. Additionally, it signifies prosperity and fertility through its abundance of flowers and fruits, symbolizing its capacity to sprout and bring forth new life.
We wanted the architecture to embody these qualities through carefully chosen materials and an open, transparent connection between interior and exterior, allowing nature to enter all spaces through courtyards throughout the project. The result is a sensorial experience.
